PAID INTERNSHIP PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY SUSPENDED
BACKGROUND
The Reginal Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat offers a comprehensive internship program designed for graduate and post-graduate students who aspire to transform their academic knowledge into practical skills within the sphere of anti-corruption. This program stands as a cornerstone of RAI’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of anti-corruption professionals, providing a rare glimpse into the operations of a regional organization devoted to this cause.
PROGRAM PURPOSE AND DESIGN
The RAI Internship Program is structured to serve as a bridge between theoretical knowledge acquired through education and the practical realities of working in the field of anti-corruption. It aims to equip interns with an understanding of how regional organizations operate and an understanding of the Southeast Europe environment in particular. The program is tailored to foster an environment that encourages substantive learning, offering interns a unique platform to engage with professionals and experts in the field.
Learning Opportunities and Professional Development
Interns at the RAI Secretariat are introduced to a wide array of duties and responsibilities, mirroring the multilayered nature of anti-corruption work. This exposure includes, but is not limited to, policy analysis, research, project management, and participation in the development and implementation of programmatic activities.
Additionally, interns assist in the development and maintenance of RAI’s Online Knowledge Hub, ensuring that information remains current, accessible, and relevant to stakeholders. They also support Secretariat staff in preparing for RAI meetings and events, undertaking logistical tasks and coordination efforts to ensure the smooth execution of these engagements. The Secretariat is dedicated to creating a conducive learning environment where interns can thrive and develop professionally. Through guidance and hands-on experience, interns gain valuable insights into regional and international anti-corruption efforts, fostering skill development and a deeper understanding of the complexities of the anti-corruption efforts. This supportive atmosphere enables interns to contribute meaningfully while advancing their own set of skills that are essential for their future careers.
Evaluation and Certification
To recognize the contributions and achievements of its interns, the RAI Secretariat implements a thorough evaluation process. This process assesses the interns’ performance, their ability to apply academic knowledge into practice, and their overall contribution to the Secretariat’s work. Upon successful completion of the internship, RAI interns receive an evaluation report that details their achievements and areas for growth, alongside a Certificate of Successful Completion. These documents serve as valuable credentials that confirm intern’s experience and learning outcomes during their time at the RAI Secretariat.
DURATION OF THE PROGRAM
Each internship period at the RAI Secretariat typically spans from 3 to 6 months, with the potential for renewal based on demonstrated results, specific academic requirements, or Secretariat needs, in accordance with local regulations. Interns are expected to commit to full-time working hours.

Paid Internship Program is open for all eligible candidates coming from RAI member countries. Candidates from countries that are not member of RAI can join the Program on a voluntary basis.
