The Joint Research Centre for Security and Crime Sciences of the University of Trento and the University of Verona (CSSC) took part in the 24th Conference of the European Society of Criminology in Bucharest, Romania on September 13th, and introduced the qAID project at a “EUROC 6 – Corruption and Public Institutions” panel. CSSC presented “Asset and Interest Disclosure (AID) Systems in EU Member and Candidate States: An Assessment”, authored by Gabriele Baratto, Andrea Di Nicola, and Beatrice Rigon.
The presentation, which was compiled in the Book of Abstracts of EUROCRIM2024, provided an assessment of the AID systems in EU Member and Candidate States, focusing in particular on:
- their main features;
- the verification systems implemented;
- the risk analysis mechanisms in place;
- the impact assessment methods;
The data was collected as part of the EU-funded “qAID – Towards Contemporary Knowledge and Innovative Tools for Assessing and Enhancing the Effectiveness of Asset and Interest Disclosure (AID) systems in EU Member States and Candidate States” project (co-funded by the European Commission – DG Home Affairs and Migration under the International Security Fund – ISF) through an online survey administered to anti-corruption bodies.
