RAI Secretariat participated in the brainstorming webinar “Fostering sustainable civil society cooperation for better governance in Southeast Europe: What is next” organized by SELDI on 18 January 2022. The webinar gathered experts from around the world, including keynote speakers Chris Walker, Vice President for Studies and Analysis at the International Forum for Democratic Studies, National Endowment for Democracy, U.S. and Vojtech Hons, Project Task Manager at the Directorate-General for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission.
RAI’s Senior Anti-corruption Advisor, Aneta Arnaudovska emphasized that the ‘togetherness’ approach remains at the core of RAI’s programs. Further on, she noted RAI exploration of the new initiatives and options for fostering the concept of togetherness and building trust in the cooperation between the governments, private sector, CSOs and their networks, media, and youth in collective action through multistakeholder events and facilitating CSO engagement in relevant regional and international events. RAI emphasized the importance of cooperation with its longstanding partners – the CSO coalitions and networks such as SELDI, Southeast Europe Coalition for Whistleblower Protection, as well as the UNCAC Coalition, and the UNODC Civil Society Unit.
