RAI Secretariat meets with the Montenegro Agency for Prevention of Corruption

Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat met with the representatives of the Montenegro Agency for Prevention of Corruption on June 2 in Podgorica.

The meeting was a great opportunity to discuss all ongoing joint activities, as well to announce activities planned in the near future and open avenues for potential new activities and interventions.

RAI Secretariat, represented by Ms. Aneta Arnaudovska, Senior Anti-corruption Advisor and Ms. Aida Zukic, Chief Finance and Operations Officer, informed the Agency about all ongoing activities, with the special focus on the Regional Project Southeast Europe – Together Against Corruption (SEE-TAC), funded by Austrian Development Cooperation, the EU-funded project Breaking the Silence: Enhancing the Whistleblowing Policies and Culture in Western Balkans and Moldova’ and activities implemented under the auspices of both projects, as well as all other RAI activities planned for the upcoming period.

The Agency, represented by Ms. Jelena Perovic, Director, Mr. Momcilo Radulovic, President of the Council of the Agency and Mr. Boris Vukasinovic, Deputy Director, emphasized the importance of anti-corruption as one of the most important steps on Montenegro’s path towards EU accession. As Montenegro is one of the signatories of the International Treaty on Exchange of Data for the Verification of Asset Declarations, the Agency is looking forward to having the Treaty ratified as soon as possible, and having it fully operational.

The meeting was an opportunity to hear more about the Agency’s efforts in becoming a regional leader in implementing reform activities. Agency expressed their full support towards all ongoing RAI activities, but also showed an initiative for development of new joint activities, with focus on improvement of bilateral and regional cooperation in the area of fight against corruption.
