Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat met with the representatives of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) of North Macedonia on June 24, 2021 at SCPC premises. RAI Secretariat was represented by Ms. Desislava Gotskova, Head of Secretariat, Ms. Aneta Arnaudovska, Senior Anti-corruption Advisor and Ms. Aida Zukic, Chief Finance and Operations Officer. On behalf of DKSK, meeting was attended by the President of the SCPC, Ms. Biljana Ivanovska, the Deputy President, Mr. Shemshi Salai, and the members of the SCPC, Mr. Nuri Bajrami, Ms. Sofka Pejovska Dojcinovska and Mr. Vladimir Georgiev.
Focus of the meeting was the ratification process of the International on Exchange of Data for the Verification of Asset Declarations, signed in March 2021, signed by Ms. Ivanovska on behalf of North Macedonia, who expressed their commitment in having the Treaty ratified and operational as soon as possible, as well their support in having new countries acceding the Treaty in the future.
Ms. Gotskova thanked DKSK for their support throughout years and pointed out that RAI, as an intergovernmental organization can serve as a good example of good cooperation in the region among countries who are already in the EU and those who are on the EU accession road.
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the Commission’s priorities; digitalization, building regional expertise and improvement of bilateral and regional cooperation in the area of fight against corruption with mutual understanding and support, as well as new joint activities and events.
