Conference ‘Launch of South-East European Judicial Training Network – Initial Step to the Establishment of Framework for Integrated Anti-corruption Legal Education in the Region’ – April 24-25, 2012 – Sofia, Bulgaria

The Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat and the National Institute of Justice of Bulgaria co-organized the conference on “Launch of South-East European Judicial Training Network – Initial Step to the Establishment of Framework for Integrated Anticorruption Legal Education in the Region”. The event took place in Sofia, Bulgaria, on April 24 – 25, 2012, and implemented the first phase of the project ”Establishment of Framework for Integrated Anticorruption Legal Education in South-Eastern Europe”.
It was attended by experts of judicial training institutions from all RAI member states, representatives of High Judicial Council, Prosecutor’s Office and state courts of the hosting country, as well as representatives of GIZ, SEELS and diplomats from the embassies based in Sofia.
Among the main decisions taken by the participants at the conference were to establish Regional Network for Judicial Training (RNJT) as a tool for strengthening of regional cooperation and exchange of information, experience and best practices in the area with focus on anticorruption legal education; to use the services of RAI Secretariat as Secretariat to RNJT; to serve as national contact points in regard to RNJT unless another person is appointed in two weeks period after the closing of the conference; to prepare and present at the next event their view and ideas on the outcomes of RNJT on one hand and the cooperation among RNJT and SEELS on the other hand.
