RAI Secretariat Director Visits Agency for the Prevention of Corruption in Montenegro

As part of his official visit to Montenegro, the newly appointed Director of the Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat, Mr. Albert Hani, met today with the Acting Director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK) of Montenegro, Mr. Dušan Drakić.

In a constructive and forward-looking discussion, Director Hani presented his vision for the future development of RAI, highlighting a set of planned institutional reforms aimed at strengthening the Initiative’s effectiveness, relevance, and impact in the region.

The meeting underscored the critical need for closer alignment among RAI member states through shared strategic goals and reinforced the importance of RAI’s more active engagement in the Berlin Process and other international frameworks. Mr. Drakić expressed strong support for RAI’s ambition to grow into an even more credible and indispensable regional partner in the fight against corruption. He emphasized that RAI must take on a more visible and influential role on the international stage.

Both sides confirmed their readiness to continue and intensify cooperation through concrete activities and joint projects that will support institutional capacity building and a more effective response to corruption challenges across the region.

Montenegro, as one of the founding members of RAI, has remained a committed partner and advocate of regional cooperation in the field of anti-corruption. The Agency’s active participation in RAI’s work continues to contribute not only to the strengthening of national anti-corruption mechanisms but also to the stability, trust, and European perspective of the entire region.

RAI highly values Montenegro’s proactive engagement, leadership, and continued support as essential in advancing collective efforts toward more transparent, accountable, and resilient institutions in Southeast Europe.
