Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative in cooperation with the Agency for Prevention of Corruption in Montenegro organized Regional Meeting on International Treaty on Exchange of Data for the Verification of Asset Declarations.
Regional Meeting that took place on December 20, 2022, brought together participants competent for the verification of asset declarations from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Moldova, North Macedonia and a host country Montenegro.
The Meeting was the opportunity to take stock of the current state of affairs in all the jurisdictions, exchange good practices from Croatia, and Moldova and discuss future steps regarding the implementation of this unique international instrument.
The implementation of the International Treaty will undoubtedly strengthen cooperation in asset disclosure at the regional and international levels. It will lead to establishment of a regional framework for a direct exchange of data among the designated focal points and will further promote the effectiveness of the verification of the asset declarations in the beneficiary jurisdictions.
Regional Meeting on International Treaty was organized under the auspices of the Regional Project Southeast Europe – Together Against Corruption (SEE-TAC), jointly implemented by RAI Secretariat and UNODC and funded by Austrian Development Cooperation.
