On September 22, 2025, in Podgorica, the Director of the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI), Mr. Albert Hani, met with Mr. Momo Koprivica, Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro for the Political System, Judiciary and Anti-Corruption.
The meeting was held in a very constructive and cordial atmosphere, highlighting the importance of regional cooperation in strengthening integrity and democratic governance. Discussions placed particular focus on the upcoming Berlin Process Side Event on Anti-Corruption, which RAI is organizing on October 6, 2025, in Sarajevo. Mr. Hani expressed appreciation for Montenegro’s continued support and looked forward to welcoming Mr. Koprivica to the event, which will gather high-level representatives, international partners, and civil society actors to discuss joint efforts in combating corruption.
During the meeting, Mr. Koprivica outlined Montenegro’s ongoing anti-corruption reforms and reaffirmed the government’s determination to enhance transparency, accountability, and the rule of law. He also emphasized Montenegro’s interest in further deepening cooperation with RAI and in building synergies that would contribute to more effective regional action against corruption.
The conversation further underlined shared priorities, including the strengthening of the judiciary, the advancement of education and professional expertise, and the consolidation of democratic institutions as essential pillars of sustainable anti-corruption efforts.
RAI reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Montenegro through dialogue, expertise, and regional cooperation platforms, ensuring that joint initiatives continue to strengthen integrity systems across the Western Balkans and beyond.
