On May 20, 2025, the RAI Secretariat hosted a formal handover ceremony at its premises in Sarajevo to mark the transition of leadership from Ms. Desislava Gotskova to the newly appointed Director, Mr. Albert Hani.
The event was an opportunity for the Secretariat team to express their deep appreciation to Ms. Gotskova for her dedicated service, vision, and tireless efforts in strengthening RAI’s role in advancing regional cooperation and joint efforts in the fight against corruption. Under her leadership, the Secretariat expanded its impact, built meaningful partnerships, and strengthened its role in promoting transparency, good governance, and regional cooperation in South East Europe.
Welcomed with enthusiasm and a strong sense of continuity, Mr. Hani was introduced to the Secretariat team and briefed on ongoing programs, strategic priorities, and upcoming initiatives. His appointment was officially confirmed during the 45th RAI Steering Group Meeting, reflecting the collective confidence of RAI Member States in his experience and leadership.
Mr. Hani brings more than 20 years of experience in diplomacy, institutional reform, youth engagement, and civil society development, including his recent role as Secretary General of the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO). He will lead the Secretariat into a new phase of growth, guided by a commitment to integrity, innovation, and regional cooperation. More information about Mr. Hani is available at the LINK.
