UNODC and Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI) Secretariat coorganized Regional Workshop on the Review Mechanism for the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) on December 8-9, 2010, in Belgrade, Serbia. The event was supported by the Serbian Anti-corruption Agency. The overall objective of the workshop was to develop the participants’ capacity to participate in the UNCAC Review Mechanism by presenting the existing requisites applicable to the review, training the participants in the methodology for country reviews and self-assessment checklist, thus enabling them to reproduce the training at national level.

After the workshop the participants took part in the conference organized by the Serbian Anti-corruption Agency on the occasion of 9th of December – the International Anti-corruption Day. It was also attended by the President of Republic of Serbia Boris Tadic, who underlined the necessity of involving not only the law enforcement and prevention authorities in the fight against corruption, but making it a priority for the whole society.
