The 25th Steering Group Meeting of the Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI) took place in Sofia, Bulgaria on June 12, 2017. The meeting was organized by the RAI Secretariat and hosted by Ministry of Interior of Bulgaria.
The Meeting is the main forum of the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative, which provides ground to the participants to take the decisions that will be implemented in the framework of RAI in the course of the following period.
Steering group members used the opportunity to exchange of views with the national anti-corruption authority of Bulgaria Commission for Prevention and Ascertainment of Conflict of Interest on potentials for continuation of joint cooperation in the field of corruption prevention, as well as on other topics of mutual interest.
Mr. Krasimir Cipov, Deputy Minister of Interior of Bulgaria welcomed all participants and emphasize the importance of cooperation between the Ministry and RAI.
Mr. Nikolay Nikolov, President of the Commission for Prevention and Ascertainment of Conflict of Interest presented the work and mandate of the Commission, followed by the discussion with Steering Group members.
Focus of the Steering Group Meeting was discussion about RAI Work Plan for 2018-2019/20.
Main decisions of the Steering Group were renewal of mandate of Mr. Tomislav Curic, Anti-corruption Expert and acceptance of the Financial Report for 2016.
