RAI Takes Part in “Asset Declaration – Unification, Digitalisation, Control” International Conference

Senior Anti-Corruption Advisor of Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative, Nikola Naumovski, took part in the international conference “Asset Declaration – Unification, Digitalisation, Control” held in Warsaw, Poland on December 9-10, 2024. Mr. Naumovski presented RAI’s work in the field of asset declarations, particularly focusing on the International Treaty on Exchange of Data for the Verification of Asset Declarations, drafted and negotiated under the auspices of RAI and progress made on its implementation in 2024.

Representatives of public administration bodies, non-governmental and international organizations, and anti-corruption institutions from Poland and the region met to discuss ways of creating effective systems for submitting asset declarations, with focus on digitalisation.

The first day of the conference mainly focused on the asset declaration systems in Southeast Europe, Baltic, and Central Europe countries, while the second was dedicated to best practices and new ways of effective data processing, along with a discussion on cybersecurity. The conference was organized by Central Anti-Corruption Bureau of Poland.

Earlier this year, North Macedonia and Montenegro ratified the International Treaty on Exchange of Data for the Verification of Asset Declarations, bringing it one step closer to the start of implementation.
