RAI has become an observer in the Southeast European Law Enforcement Center (SELEC)

The SELEC’s Council has granted the Observer status to the RAI following the RAI application launched on October 4th, 2023. The new partnerships are contributing to stability and peace through building integrity to help curb corruption in the security sector and meeting the RAI strategic objectives defined by the RAI Work Plan 2023-2025.

This is the result of good cooperation between the two organizations paved through constructive discussions and meetings among the RAI Chairperson Ms. Laura Stefan, the Head of RAI Secretariat, Ms. Desislava Gotskova and the SELEC director Mr. Oğuz Serkant Akin.

As the RAI’s mission is to reinforce regional cooperation in support of anti-corruption efforts by providing a platform for dialogue, training, and sharing of best practices, the observer status in SELEC shall open new possibilities for cooperation. The observer status will contribute to the implementation of mutual objectives, and provide with opportunities to participate in various joint activities and initiatives.

The Southeast European Law Enforcement Center (SELEC) is a law enforcement, treaty-based, international organization that brings together the resources and expertise of Police and Customs authorities. SELEC  joins synergies in order to combat more effectively trans-border organized crime in Southeast Europe.
