46th RAI Steering Group Meeting Held Online

Sarajevo, September 12, 2025 – The Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI) held its 46th Steering Group Meeting in an online format.

The meeting served as an opportunity to brief Steering Group members and observer representatives on the latest activities and developments, as part of preparations for the upcoming in-person session.

During the meeting, Mr. Albert Hani, Director of the RAI Secretariat, presented key conclusions from recently implemented activities and provided an overview of planned initiatives. Special emphasis was placed on the organization of a side event within the Berlin Process, highlighting the significant opportunity this initiative represents for enhancing regional cooperation and visibility of anti-corruption efforts in Southeast Europe.

In addition to the discussion on programmatic priorities, two key operational documents essential for the continued functioning of the organization were reviewed and adopted, ensuring the organization’s ongoing alignment with its strategic goals.

Key Conclusions of the Meeting:

• The Steering Group commenced with opening remarks and adoption of the agenda.
• The Steering Group took note of the information presented by the RAI Secretariat regarding the Work Plan 2026–2028, including achievements from 2025 and upcoming activities.
• The Steering Group took note of the progress made in the organization of RAI’s upcoming high-level events, including:
                o the Regional CRA & CPL Event focusing on the Police/Ministry of Interior and Nature/Biodiversity Protection Sectors,
                o the Side Event on Anti-Corruption within the Berlin Process,
                o the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of RAI – organized as a Side Event within the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) and the 47th Steering Group Meeting – Ministerial Meeting, and
                o the update on the COSP 11 Special Event application.
• The Steering Group adopted the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation (HELVETAS) .
• The Steering Group approved a request for the reallocation of the 2025 Core Budget.
• The meeting concluded with closing remarks delivered by Mr. Dražen Jelenić, RAI Chairperson, and Ms. Alma Fejzić, Project Officer.
