Regional Anti-corruption Initiative (RAI) represented by Head of Secretariat, Mr Vladan Joksimović, and Programme and Outreach Officer, Ms Jasna Panjeta, participated at the internal meeting on “Preventing, Identifying and Addressing (Instances of) State Capture”, which was organized by the European Commission on 25 – 26 October 2017, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting started by defining, identifying and understanding state capture. Participants discussed the addressing of state capture and improving good governance by injecting transparency and ethics in politics. Furthermore, the meeting fostered experience sharing: feedback from colleagues that did the case based peer-reviews on high level corruption and organized crimes through the criminal justice system with a strong focus on financial investigations and asset confiscation.
Mr Vladan Joksimović, Head of Secretariat, presented RAI activities with a particular focus on International Treaty on Exchange of Data for the Verification of Asset Declarations. The meeting fostered professional respect, mutual understanding and information-sharing.
