Albania – Tusk: Focus on the Justice Reform and fight against corruption

During a press conference with Albanian President Bujar Nishani, President of the European Council, Donald Tusk said that the Justice Reform is very important for Albania and its European future. He added that the European Union continues to support and will support Albania in the years to come.

“The European Union supports the development of Albania. Reforms must be implemented. We are monitoring the situation closely. Albania has undertaken reforms, but they should be implemented.

Dialogue between political parties is important. Only like this you can reach EU. The justice reform, fight against corruption and crime are very important for the country”, he said.

Tusk said that cooperation will continue while Albania remains a reliable partner of the EU.

Nishani said that Albania will try to meet all criteria set by the European Union for the opening of accession negotiations. “I express my gratitude for the support of the European Union. The EU has always supported the development of Albania. We will work to meet EU criteria, “said Nishani.
