DNA Romania: 188 defendants sentenced in corruption cases in the past two months of 2015

The National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) on Monday informed that 188 defendants have been convicted following final court rulings in the last two months of 2015 in the cases investigated by the anti-corruption body.

“During November and December 2015, 65 court rulings remained final convicting 188 defendants in the corruption cases investigated by DNA, among whom there were a first prosecutor from a court prosecutor’s office, a judge, nine lawyers, two bailiffs, five company managers, a city mayor, an university rector, two doctors, five police officers, four Fraud Squad inspectors and five customs officers.

According to DNA, the sentences ordered against the 188 defendants range from 11 and one year in prison.
